Arizona 2026 Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act poster

The Industrial Commission of Arizona has recently released the revised 2025 Arizona minimum wage poster. Effective January 1st, 2025, the minimum wage rate in Arizona will increase from $14.35 per hour to $14.70 per hour. Affected Arizona employers must post the new notice wherever they commonly display Arizona state & federal labor law posters on or before the effective date of the 2025 increase. Failure to post required state and federal labor law posters can result in citations, fines, and penalties under applicable laws.

Minimum Wage Posting Requirements

Employers are mandated by state law to prominently display the Arizona minimum wage poster in a location that employees can easily access. Arizona employers must post the revised notice beginning January 1st, 2025. If employees speak Spanish as their primary language, employers should also post the revised poster in Spanish. The prior minimum wage poster, which reflects the 2024 minimum wage of $14.35, should be displayed until December 31st, 2024. Employers can demonstrate proof of previous posting compliance by retaining any posters removed from the designated posting area for three years, in accordance with Arizona Employment Law.

What the Poster Includes

In addition to displaying the 2025 Arizona State Minimum Wage rate, the revised poster informs employees about exemptions under the Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act, the law's retaliation & discrimination provisions, tip credits, and where to get more information. It also includes information on how the Industrial Commission's Labor Department enforces the Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act.

Tip Credits

The 2025 poster includes a section explaining tip credits for commonly tipped workers. Effective January 1st, 2025, employees who customarily and regularly receive tips and gratuities must receive a base wage of no less than $3.00 per hour below the 2025 minimum wage rate of $14.70 per hour. This base wage does not include tips. To use this tip credit, employers must establish via pay records that the employee's total pay, including tips, equals at least the new minimum wage rate. The employers must also provide a written notice to affected employees at the time of hire and at least annually thereafter stating that they intend to use the tip credit.

Other Recent Posting Revisions & Requirements

The most recent Arizona state labor law posting revision before the new 2025 minimum wage notice was the 2024 version of the poster, released in December of 2023. No other mandatory state posting revisions have occurred in the last 12 months. Employers located in particular cities, counties, or working within specific industries in Arizona may have an obligation to post additional Arizona labor posters alongside the standard state and federal labor law notices. Industry-specific notices applicable to Arizona employers include:

  • "No Smoking" signage at public entrances.
  • A "Fair Housing for All" notice for real estate businesses.
  • A sample drug testing policy for any business that conducts such testing.

City Posting Requirements

At least two cities in Arizona enforce specific posting requirements:

  • City of Flagstaff: Employers in Flagstaff, Arizona, must also display the required Flagstaff City Minimum Wage poster in English and Spanish.
  • City of Tucson: Employers in Tucson must display the Tucson Minimum Wage poster and a Tucson Non-Discrimination Notice.

Arizona employers in other cities and counties should check with their local government agencies to determine if those entities require any additional postings.

Employer Takeaways

Arizona employers must post the revised 2025 Arizona Minimum Wage Poster on or before the effective date of January 1st, 2025. Additionally, employers must increase the salary levels of tipped or non-tipped employees who currently receive a wage below the new 2025 minimum wage.
