The State of Colorado has released an updated mandatory poster that employers need to display in the workplace. The new notice includes revised information about the State’s Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) Program. Specifically, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment is the state agency responsible for updating and providing the FAMLI Program notice. Affected employers must update their Colorado state & federal labor law posters to include the newly revised poster.
Why Was the Updated FAMLI Program Notice Released?
In general, the latest poster consolidates two previously required FAMLI notices into a single poster. Now, the required notice includes all information employees need to understand their rights and responsibilities under the FAMLI Program. This information includes:
- What Workers Pay
- Workers’ Rights
- Leave Availability
- Compensation Distribution
- How to Apply
What Is Different From the Previous Versions of the FAMLI Program Posters?
The updated FAMLI Program notice also includes two changes to information previously included in the older multiple posters. Under Colorado Senate Bill 25-144, as of January 1st, 2026:
- The notice now includes information allowing eligible employees to take up to an additional 12 weeks of FAMLI leave to care for a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patient for a total of 24 weeks.
- The poster also states the reduction in the premium collected from employees for participation in the FAMLI program. That premium has fallen from 0.9% to 0.88% for the 2026 calendar year.
