The New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development has released an updated Family Leave Insurance poster. Labeled as PR-2 and dated 9/25, all employees with at least one employee must post this notice in a place visible to all employees. The Division of Temporary Disability and Family Leave Insurance enforces the posting of this information.
An Overview of the Family Leave Insurance Poster (PR-2)
Created under N.J. Admin. Code § 12:21-1.8, the Family Leave Insurance Poster explains to employees that they can receive cash benefits while taking leave from work to:
- bond with a new child,
- care for a loved one with a physical or mental condition, or
- cope with domestic or sexual violence.
Benefits can be provided for up to 12 consecutive weeks or 56 intermittent days within a 12-month period.
The poster also includes definitions of the following terms as dictated by the New Jersey Temporary Disability Benefits Law:
- State Plan
- Private Plan
- Job Protection
- Bond with a New Child
- Family Caregivers
- Victims or Survivors of Domestic or Sexual Violence and their Caregivers
What Changed Recently on the Poster?
The 9/25 version of the Family Leave Insurance notice includes the following updates and additions:
- a more straightforward layout,
- the removal of outdated references,
- a benefits formula of 85% of weekly wages up to an annual maximum,
- directions for employees to access the New Jersey website for up-to-date benefit information, and
- a new “Job Protection” section (mentioned earlier in this post).
Action Steps for Employers
New Jersey employers with at least one employee are required to post the revised September 2025 version of the Family Leave Insurance poster and review their internal policies to ensure compliance with the New Jersey Temporary Disability Benefits Law.
