Effective January 1st, 2025, the minimum wage in Missouri is $13.75 per hour for most private, non-exempt employees. This rate was established through Proposition A (2024), approved by voters.

Tipped employees must receive at least 50% of the minimum wage ($6.875/hour) plus tips that bring their total pay to at least $13.75/hour.
Overtime pay is required at 1.5 times the employee’s regular hourly rate for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek.
Exemptions include certain small retail/service businesses with gross annual sales under $500,000 and specific agricultural and exempt roles under Missouri statutes.
The law does not apply to public employers, and the state wage rate may not fall below the federal minimum.
